Teams split into 3 groups of three. Each team defends against one net and attacks one net. Coach determines which direction the teams rotate to start the game. After each goal, teams rotate in the opposite direction. Coach starts play each time by passing a puck to the team the coach wishes to have start on Offense.
Key points
Defenders focus on protecting the slot and forcing attacks outside of the good ice. Good communication on sorting out defensive coverage. Once the defenders recover the puck they attack the net next to them against three new defenders. After each goal, players move back into their original starting positions ready for a new puck. Change direction of rotation after each goal. Game may be played with all players in the same colour to improve reading and communication.
