Assemble your drills to practice packages. These practice packages can be printed as PDF, shared as animations, or used in your calendar for your team's season plan. To efficiently share files or practices with your team, it is necessary to first create a team and all its members. Once you have your roster, you can share files with your entire team or individually selected members. Having a roster, you can also create lineups, which you can insert into practices or print on PDF. In the calendar, you will be able to select your team, so you can create weekly plans for the entire season. Video content: Creating teams, creating player profiles, assigning players to teams, inviting team members via email, creating lineups, editing lineups, sharing packages with a team, adding lineups to a package, choosing a team for the calendar.NEW Tutorial 5: Creating Objects
This is the first step of creating your custom drill or play. This tutorial explains how to create, position, and edit the different objects like players, pucks, cones, etc. onto the playing surface, so you can start to create your animation.Tutorial 2: Record Action
The next step is to animate the objects you have set in the first step. This tutorial describes the basics of how to create and watch a simple animated action. The explanation of how to create more complicated plays will come in later tutorials.Tutorial 3: Play Animation
In this video, you will see the visual possibilities that you have when playing an animation. New options, like camera perspectives, visual hints, and details are constantly being added with new app updates.New Tutorial: Timing Basics
Here you can learn the basics of how to use the timing line. Each player has its own timing line that can be adjusted to manipulate the player’s actions on the ice. Timings define when a player will be at what position on the ice and when he'll do the created action.Tutorial 5: Prevent Offside
This video shows you how to prevent offsides and the basics of how to use the “Timing” key. Just remember that while skating, you have to know where to set the timing points so you can adjust the player's speed and positioning. With the next update of the HCV Drill Creator, you will be able to set timing points even after skating the routes. So stay tuned for that!Tutorial 6: Waiting Players
When you create a drill, you often have waiting players on the ice. For example, you may have players queueing in certain situations during an exercise where a player remains in a specific position for some time. This tutorial gives you instructions on how to approach such situations by setting multiple timings on the same position.Tutorial 9: Picture And Video
Easily import your drill pictures from any source into Hockey Coach Vision. You can also import video files that you've recorded with any camera or that are saved on your computer/tablet.Tutorial 10: Advanced Drill Creation
This tutorial shows you how to create an advanced drill. It shows several hints that will help you to master the timings so your drills look perfect.Tutorial 11: Advanced Drill Creation 2
This is another Advanced Drill Creation video made by our HCV technical expert. Check it out!Tutorial 12: Passing Tips
This tutorial will help you get your timing right for all kinds of passing situations. We'll go through the different examples step by step. Note that for standing players, you don't need to always set 2 timing points. If the player has not moved from the same spot since their last puck action, in that situation 1 timing point would also be enough.Tutorial 13: Use Of The DUMP Key
The DUMP key gives you the option to create a custom path for the puck. You can use it to dump the puck into the zone, to make drop passes, to rim the puck around the boards, to make a bank pass off the wall, create rebounds in front of the goal and much more. Watch this tutorial to see a couple of these examples.Tutorial 14: Advanced Timing Points
This tutorial is another instructional video that shows the use of timing points. A simple drill with basic movements like moving up in line, different ways of passing, standing, anticipating for rebounds and more. This way all your drills will have a natural look to them.FAQ

No, you don't have to animate all exercises. The "Video / Picture" feature allows you to store your content as picture or video files. Simply capture your content (for example with your iPad camera, or with a screenshot function on your laptop) so you can import it and save it as a Hockey Coach Vision file. For a more precise instruction about this process, please watch our video Tutorial 9: Picture And Video.
Because you most probably have selected a TAG or LEVEL, so the list is filtered. If your drill hasn't this TAG or LEVEL assigned to, it won't be displayed in the list. For further help, please check out the video Tutorial 7: Browsing Files.
Puck events are disabled because they can influence multiple players and pucks. If you already made a puck event and want to change its timing, use the Remove function to remove the timing and recreate it with a better timing. The Remove button can always be applied to the last timing on the timing line.
Unfortunately, HCV does not provide this function. However you could easily work around it by recording your screen with any screen capturing program.
If you import videos with your Mac or Windows version, your video format needs to be mp4. If your video has a different format, you should use a software like "Handbrake" (which is free) to convert your video file into mp4. With a program like Handbrake you can simply choose the iPad preset, so the video will be perfectly formatted for all your devices.
If your converted file is still over 15 MB you have two options:
1. Try to shorten your video length by cutting your video with a video cutting program.
2. Lower the video output quality settings in Handbrake when converting your video file.
There are two types of PDF's that can be created:
1. PDF of a lineup: Go into the roster, select a team and then choose LINE-UP. On the top right you will see the button CREATE PDF, which will create a one-page PDF file with your players and the lines you have created.
2. PDF of a practice with line-up: From the Files-Browser (the main list where all your files are) open the PACKAGES LIST which is at the bottom of your screen. Open a practice package and press the PDF button on the bottom left which can create a PDF in two formats. The COMPACT format which prints them all (up to 8 drills) on one page with the line-up at the top. Or the NORMAL format, which will print the line-up on the first page, and all drills on the following pages, having 3 drills per page.
You can buy drills in the Drill Store on our website: http://www.hockeycoachvision.com/drill-store/
NOTE: You need to have an HCV - Coach account to buy a package from our Drill Store. Your purchased package will be downloadable within your HCV app in the Packages list, in the PURCHASED folder. After you download the package, all files will be visible in your FILES BROWSER.
